"The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) /  Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) consists of  FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operators who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications when disaster strikes.

Although the primary purpose of the ARES is to provide Emergency Communications, ARES members also routinely provide non-business communications support to other public events.


 The Seminole Ares/Races Net meets each Monday evening on the 147.165 (+600) PL of 103.5
  at 20:00 Hrs. local, except for the first Monday of each month on which it meets on 146.460 simplex.
